We’re excited to announce that Little York Fire Department was selected as one of just 12 sites nationwide to host the new Vision 20/20 Community Risk Intelligence (CRI) Training, developed in partnership with Esri!
This two-day course is designed to build a critical skill set for current and future fire service leaders by combining geospatial analysis, incident data, and data-informed decision making to better understand risk within the communities we serve.
Built around Vision 20/20’s mission to Educate, Equip, and Engage, the CRI course helps students turn national and local incident data into actionable risk intelligence that can be applied directly to their department’s Community Risk Assessment (CRA) and the NFPA 1300 CRA process.
The course covers five key areas:
Community Risk Intelligence
NERIS Data Preparation
Fire Incident Pattern Analysis
ArcGIS Apps
Data Dashboards
Students work in ArcGIS Online using their own department’s incident data, so you won’t spend two days working with a generic sample dataset. By the end of the course, participants will have a working start on their own community risk analysis.
If you work in Community Risk Reduction, fire prevention, emergency management, data/GIS, administration, or fire service leadership, this is an opportunity to develop skills that can directly impact how your organization identifies risk, allocates resources, and makes decisions.
Only 12 sites nationwide were selected to host this training, and we’re proud to bring one of them to Little York Fire Department in North Harris County.
